Shuhaz vs Markaz: an honest comparison for resellers
· 7 min read
Markaz built reselling in Pakistan and deserves the credit. A narrow comparison of what each platform actually publishes, quoted, dated, and honest about what they do not publish.
Markaz did something genuinely good for this market. It showed a very large number of people, many of them women working from home, that a business can be run from a phone with no capital. Their own reseller page claims over 3 million downloads and "hundreds of thousands of resellers". Anyone in this industry who pretends that did not matter is being dishonest.
So this is not a takedown, and it is deliberately narrow. We will only compare things Markaz actually publishes on its own pages, quoted as they read on 14 September 2026. Where they do not publish something, we say so rather than guess, and their terms can change, as can ours, so verify both before you decide.
What is genuinely similar
A lot, and it is worth saying first so the rest is credible. On both platforms you resell without holding stock, you see a wholesale rate, you choose your own markup, and the parcel ships to your customer. Markaz's pages say resellers "choose their preferred commissions" and can "earn as high as 50%".
So if you have been told that Markaz fixes your selling price, that is not what their own pages say. Ignore that comparison and look at the ones below, which are about what each platform commits to in writing.
The real differences
| Markaz (their published wording) | Shuhaz | |
|---|---|---|
| Reseller markup | "Choose their preferred commissions"; "earn as high as 50%" | You set it: floor of 5% over wholesale, ceiling of 120% of MRP |
| Payout speed | "The quickest payouts", no number published | 24-hour claim window from delivery, then released to your wallet |
| Platform cut on your margin | Not published as a figure, ask them | 0% |
| Scale | "3 Million + downloads", "hundreds of thousands of resellers" | Smaller and newer, no contest on this one |
| Who sets the price | Supplier network built for resellers | Supplier sets wholesale and MRP; reseller sets their own selling price |
| Who buys | Resellers only | Resellers and shoppers, from the same catalog |
1. The markup cap is a real trade-off, not a feature war
Shuhaz caps your selling price at 120% of MRP, with a floor of 5% over wholesale. Markaz's pages talk about resellers choosing their own commission and earning "as high as 50%", but do not publish a cap either way, so if unlimited markup matters to you, ask them directly rather than trusting anyone's blog, including this one.
Our reasoning for having a ceiling at all: Shuhaz is a marketplace where ordinary retail customers shop the same catalog. An uncapped markup in that environment ends one way, the customer eventually finds the item at its normal price and never buys from that reseller again. We would rather cap the markup than let a reseller burn a customer once. That is a trade-off, not a win; decide which side of it you want to be on.
An uncapped markup is freedom right up until the customer googles the product.
2. The payout clock, and what starts it
Almost every platform in this category says it has the fastest payouts; Markaz's pages say "the quickest payouts" without publishing a number. The number that matters is not just how many hours anyway, it is what starts the counting. On Shuhaz the clock starts when the courier marks the parcel delivered. A 24-hour window opens for the customer to raise a claim. No claim, and your margin is released to your wallet. That is the commitment, in writing, with the trigger named.
The 7-day return window still exists on Shuhaz, but it is a warranty for the customer, not a hold on your money. If a return happens after you have been paid, that order's margin and its courier cost reverse out of your wallet. We would rather pay you fast and occasionally claw back than hold your cash for a week against something that usually does not happen.
3. Marketplace versus curated network
Markaz operates as a curated supplier network built for resellers. Shuhaz is a multi-vendor marketplace: independent vendors list, price and stock their own products, and retail customers buy from the same catalog you resell from.
Both have a real downside. A curated network is more consistent but narrower. A marketplace is wider and moves faster, but quality varies by vendor, which is why we run vendor approval and a product review queue, and why you should still order one sample before pushing a new line hard to your list.
4. You set the selling price, within a cap
On both platforms a reseller chooses their own markup, and it would be dishonest to pretend that is a difference. The difference is what constrains it.
Shuhaz caps your selling price at 120% of MRP, with a floor of 5% over wholesale. Markaz's pages talk about resellers choosing their own commission and earning "as high as 50%", but do not publish a cap either way. Who should pick which
That last one is the only advice here worth taking seriously. Nobody should switch platforms because of a blog post written by one of the platforms, ours included. Run the orders.
- You want the largest, most established reseller community in Pakistan: Markaz has a real head start, and their download numbers say so.
- You want 0% on your margin, a payout clock tied to delivery, and a marketplace catalog: Shuhaz.
- You want to price above 120% of MRP and resell into an audience that cannot compare: neither platform is a good idea for you.
- You are already reselling and unsure: run five real orders through each and compare what actually lands in your account.
Frequently asked questions
Is Shuhaz a Markaz alternative?+
It covers the same core need, reselling without holding stock. The differences we can state plainly are ours: 0% commission on your margin, a payout clock that starts when the parcel is delivered and runs 24 hours, and a marketplace catalog that ordinary shoppers also buy from. Markaz is considerably larger, by its own published download figures.
Which one pays faster?+
Shuhaz opens a 24-hour claim window when the parcel is delivered, after which your margin is released to your wallet for withdrawal. Markaz advertises "the quickest payouts" but does not publish a figure on the pages we checked, so ask them directly and compare like for like.
Can I use both platforms at the same time?+
Yes. Nothing stops a reseller from sourcing from more than one platform, and comparing real orders across both is the most reliable way to judge them.
