How to start reselling in Pakistan with no stock and no capital
· 8 min read · Updated 14 September 2026
A practical, non-motivational guide: what to do in week one, what to sell first, what to charge, when the money arrives, and the mistakes that end most attempts by month two.
Most "start your online business" advice is encouragement with no instructions. This is the opposite: the actual sequence, including the boring parts.
One framing note before we start. ECDB puts Pakistan's 2025 e-commerce revenue at roughly US$5.78 billion, still growing 10–15% a year, and cash on delivery is still an estimated 65–70% of transactions. Selling through social platforms rather than a shopfront is now an ordinary way to do business here. You are not early, but you are nowhere near late.
Step 1: Sign up, and answer the audience question properly
Create a Shuhaz account and become a reseller. It is free, there is no joining fee, and there is no waiting: you see wholesale prices the moment you sign up.
The form asks where you already sell, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, a physical shop, your own website, and roughly how large your audience is on each. Answer it honestly and completely. It is not a test you fail by being small: a 300-contact WhatsApp list is a real business. It is how we understand who you are.
300 engaged WhatsApp contacts outperform 30,000 followers who have never bought anything. Do not undersell a small, real audience.
Step 2: Know which platform you actually have
It matters, because the platforms are not equally sized in Pakistan and they do not sell the same way. Ranked by the advertising audience each platform reports for late 2025: TikTok 79.9 million adults, YouTube 54.3 million, Facebook 52.9 million, Snapchat 41.1 million, Instagram 22.4 million. Those are the platforms' own reach estimates rather than counts of unique people, one person with two accounts is counted twice, so read them as a rough ordering, not a census.
Read that as a hint about format, not a ranking. TikTok and Snapchat reward demonstration, show the product being used. Facebook still carries the buy-and-sell groups where a lot of ordinary commerce happens. Instagram is smaller here than people assume but skews towards fashion and beauty buyers. WhatsApp is where the sale usually closes regardless of where it started.
Step 3: Pick three products, not thirty
From day one you can see wholesale prices across the catalog. The instinct is to share everything. Resist it, a feed of forty unrelated items reads as spam and sells nothing.
Pick three products that fit the audience you already have. If your contacts are mostly women in their twenties, that is one shortlist. If they are students or newly married couples, that is a completely different one. Sell to the list you have, not the one you wish you had.
Step 4: Set a margin you can defend
You set your own selling price, between a 5% minimum margin over wholesale and a ceiling of 120% of MRP. Inside that band nobody instructs you.
A sensible starting point for a first-timer is 15–25%. Low enough that the price is not shocking, high enough that the effort is worth it. Raise it later if your audience trusts you and you deliver well, trust is a pricing asset and you are allowed to charge for it.
Step 5: Sell first, then order
This is what makes it capital-free, and it is what beginners get backwards. Do not buy stock. Post the product, take the order, collect the address, and only then place the order on Shuhaz at your price with your customer's address as the delivery address.
The parcel goes from the vendor to your customer. You never handle it, and your money was never at risk. Cash on delivery is still an estimated 65–70% of Pakistani e-commerce transactions, so expect most of your customers to want it, that is normal and it is supported.
Step 6: Understand exactly when you get paid
The 7-day return window is a warranty for your customer, not a hold on your money. We pay in a day and reverse if something goes wrong, rather than holding your cash for a week against something that usually does not happen.
- The parcel is delivered to your customer.
- A 24-hour window opens in which they can raise a claim.
- No claim: your margin is released to your Shuhaz wallet and you can withdraw it.
- A claim: your margin and the vendor's payment both freeze until it is resolved.
- A return after payout reverses that order's margin and its courier cost from your wallet.
The four mistakes that end most attempts
- Posting forty products at once. Your audience stops reading. Three at a time, properly.
- Competing on price inside your own list. Nobody in your WhatsApp group is comparison shopping. Do not start a price war against yourself.
- Never ordering a sample of a product you plan to push hard. One piece costs almost nothing and tells you what a photo cannot.
- Disappearing after a bad delivery. The customers who stay with you for years are the ones you handled properly on the day something went wrong.
What month one realistically looks like
Not much. A handful of orders, mostly from people who already like you, and a lot of messages that go nowhere. That is the normal shape of it, and it is why most people quit in week three.
The ones still going in month six treated it as a shop rather than a lottery ticket: the same three products until they knew them, prices they could defend, and a reply to every message. There is no trick underneath it.
Frequently asked questions
How much money do I need to start reselling in Pakistan?+
None for stock. You take the customer's order first and place it on Shuhaz afterwards, so you never buy inventory. There is no joining fee, and no platform-wide minimum order quantity.
Which platform is best for reselling in Pakistan?+
The one where you already have people. By reach, TikTok is the largest in Pakistan at 79.9 million adults, followed by YouTube and Facebook, but a small, engaged WhatsApp list usually converts better than a large, cold following.
How long does reseller approval take?+
There is no wait: you are a reseller the moment you sign up. New resellers start with a few orders in transit at a time, and the limits grow automatically as your orders are delivered.
Do my customers have to pay online?+
No. Cash on delivery is supported, and it remains the most common payment method in Pakistani e-commerce at an estimated 65–70% of transactions.
